Shihan Brancaccio was just awarded his sixth degree black belt in Karate under renowned instructor Kyoshi Cesar Borkowski. In addition, he is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Professor John Machado and is and instructor in Kali (a Phillipino Martial Art) under Guro Dan Insosanto. After years of training, Shihan Brancaccio became an international competitor in Karate and, representing Canada in 1989, won a gold medal in Germany. Always looking for a competitive challenge, Vito turned to boxing and in 1993, he won the silver medal in his weight class in the New England Golden Gloves competition, losing to future WBA North American champion Scott the sandman Pemberton with his American cousin Peter Manfredo Sr. in his corner.
After retiring from competitive competition, Vito put his heart and soul into training many champions such as: Jonathan Bochner representing Canada in International competition and winning a 2006 Canadian and Golden Gloves championship. In Kickboxing, Tomasz Trojanowski won the ISKA and KICK North American kick boxing championship. In Thai boxing, he is also the trainer for Alex Ricci, who recently knocked out his opponent in a dramatic fourth round knockout in a Canada/U.S. professional bout in New York City. Shihan Brancaccio is also the head coach/manager for UFC fighter Jeff the Inferno Joslin and womens Hardcore World Bantamweight Champion Sarah Kaufman.
